Saint Helena Airport for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 Released

It is with pleasure that we announce the release of our Saint Helena Airport for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020!

Saint Helena Airport is an international airport on Saint Helena, a remote island in the south Atlantic Ocean which forms part of the British Overseas Territory of Saint Helena, Ascension, and Tristan da Cunha.

Saint Helena is more than 2,000 kilometres (1,200 mi) from the nearest major landmass. Prior to the opening of the airport, the island was only reachable by sea, making it one of the most remote populated places on earth.

The airport was opened in May 2016, but scheduled commercial services only began on 14 October 2017 when the South African carrier Airlink inaugurated a weekly service from O. R. Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg, South Africa, to Saint Helena using an Embraer E190.

Saint Helena is known for being the site of Napoleon’s second exile, following his final defeat in 1815. He had a home on the island at Longwood House where he died on the 5th of May 1821.

As with all our airports, we did our best to reproduce this airport to be as close to the real one as possible. The terminal interior has also been added and it is exactly as real life with added check in counters and transparent windows!

All the approaches to the runway, including the ILS, RNAV and VOR approaches have been added to this airport package. Please note that the approaches are at an angle and will not bring you straight in for the landing. This is as in real life. Landing at the airport is also very tricky as in real life as the runway sits in on a plateau and with the wind blowing up the plateau; landing will be most tricky!

We have also added PBR Texturing to all the buildings and the layout in terms of the runway, taxiway and buildings are all accurate.
