FARS Robertson Airport for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 released

We are proud to announce the release of our brand-new Robertson Airport for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.

Robertson is a town in the Western Cape Province of South Africa, at the heart of Route 62; the wine route. The town is also known as the known as the valley of wine and roses and the airport is situated on the western edge of the town. The town was founded in 1853 and named after Dr William Robertson, a Scottish Dutch Reformed Church minister.

Besides agriculture, the town as several heritage sites to view and it has a population of over 20,000 residents. The Western Province Sport Parachute Club (WPSPC), which is the oldest parachute club in South Africa operates from Robertson Airfield over weekends and public holidays. It facilitates tandem skydiving and student training, and provides a facility for sports skydivers.

This is a completely new airport and for Microsoft Flight Simulator only! We have included an updated photoreal ground layer and we designed the airport to be as close to the real one as possible. All the hangars that are at the airport in real life have been included, including the club house and the fuel shed.

The main runway (10/28) has night lights as well as the two taxiways to and from the ramp. The hangars have ample lighting so that you can find your way around the ramp at night.

Since the airport has a parachute club, we have added an aircraft with parachutists waiting for a lift! This aircraft is parked near the fuel pad on the ramp as you taxi in.

Our plan forward is to design more of these small airports for your flying pleasure! We have three airports already lined up to be designed, but if you have any suggestions on airports you would like to see for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, then please let us know!
