It is with pleasure that we announce the release of our Cape Town International Airport for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020!
Cape Town International Airport (FACT) is the second largest airport in South Africa, after Johannesburg; the third largest in Africa and a major gateway for tourist traffic. Located approximately 20 kilometres (12 mi) from the Cape Town city centre, the airport was opened in 1954 to replace the Cape Town Municipal Airport in the suburb of Wingfield.
Cape Town International Airport is the only airport in the Cape Town Metropolitan area offering scheduled passenger services. The airport has direct flights from South Africa’s other two main urban areas, Johannesburg, and Durban, as well as flights to smaller centres in South Africa. Internationally, it has direct flights to several destinations in Africa, Asia, Europe and South America.
We have done our best to design the airport as close to the real one as possible. We have also added PBR Texturing to all the buildings! The layout in terms of runway, taxiway and hangars is accurate.
