We are proud to announce the release of our brand-new Skukuza Airport for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.
Skukuza Airport (FASZ) is the only commercial airport in the Kruger National Park, located near the Skukuza Rest Camp some 3 km (1.8 Mi) from the airport.
The Skukuza Rest Camp is the biggest camp in the world-renowned Kruger National Park and named in honour of James Stevenson-Hamilton, the first warden of the Kruger national park. In 2018, the airport was dubbed “the prettiest airport in the world” by Forbes. From here, travellers can embark on thrilling game drives to spot the iconic Big Five – lions, elephants, rhinos, leopards, and buffalo – roaming freely across the vast African wilderness. With comfortable accommodation, restaurants, and excellent safari facilities, Skukuza offers the perfect base to explore the park. For added convenience, visitors can fly directly into Skukuza Airport, allowing them to begin their safari adventure almost immediately after landing.
Airlink, a local South African Airline has flights twice daily to Skukuza Airport from Johannesburg International. In theory it is possible to arrive at Cape Town airport in the morning and have your first game drive that evening in the Kruger National Park.
This is a completely new airport and for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 only! We have included an updated photoreal ground layer and we designed the airport to be as close to the real one as possible. Please note that this is a day time airport only. Night Time operations are not supported.
Our plan forward is to design more of these small airports for your flying pleasure! If you have any suggestions on airports you would like to see for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, then please let us know!
For those who prefer purchasing via the Flight Simulator 2024 Marketplace, we expect this airport to be available in one week.
