Bram Fischer International Airport (FABL) is located 10 kilometres (6 mi) from the city of Bloemfontein which is also the capital city of the Free State Province. The airport shares runways with Air Force Base Bloemspruit which is located at the east side of the airport. Constructed in 1912, it was South Africa’s third largest airport at the time. Although the airport enjoys “international” status, there are no international flights scheduled to or from the airport.
The city of Bloemfontein is considered to be the Judicial Capital of South Africa because the South African Court of Appeals are located in the city. Bloemfontein is one of the three capital cities of South Africa with Cape Town being the Legislative Capital and Pretoria being the Administrative Capital.

This Library is needed for the correct working of the airport. Without it, you may not see the taxi lights, runway lights, apron lights, trees or vehicles parked at the airport. You only need to download and install this package once as all our airports uses it. Regular updates for these libraries may be required as our collection of airports grow.
