Bloemfontein/Bram Fischer International Airport (FABL) was constructed in 1912 and it was South Africa’s third largest airport at the time. The runways were upgraded in 2002, followed by an upgrade to the terminal shortly thereafter.

Bram Fischer International Airport is located 10 kilometres (6 mi) from the city of Bloemfontein which is also the capital city of the Free State Province. The airport shares runways with Air Force Base Bloemspruit which is located at the east side of the airport.

Bloemfontein is considered to be the Judicial Capital of South Africa because the South African Court of Appeals are in the city. Bloemfontein is one of the three capital cities of South Africa with Cape Town being the Legislative Capital and Pretoria
being the Administrative Capital.

This Library is needed for the correct working of the airport. Without it, you may not see the taxi lights, runway lights, apron lights, trees or vehicles parked at the airport.
