This update is intended for those who do not have our scenery packages or those who would like to just update the default airports in Flight Simulator X or Prepar3D.

CHANGES

This patch will make the following changes:

  • Durban International Airport (FADN) will be closed. You will still see the airport on your Airport List, but all the parking bays and runway start locations have been removed. All taxiway lines and runway markings have been removed. All ILS, Approach and VOR data have been removed.
  • King Shaka International Airport (FALE) has been added as a default airport. The airport is based on our King Shaka package, but without the detail available in the commercial package. We have added ILS, Approach and VOR data. We have added a few default buildings to the airport, but as with all default airports, these buildings are extremely basic.
  • Virginia Airport (FAVG) has been moved to its correct place and we have added taxiways, but no buildings. You can now use the default Virginia Airport with any coastal vector data package without making the airport unusable.

This update will be distributed and automatically installed by our updated King Shaka V2.2, Durban V2.2 and Virginia V1.1 packages once you purchase them.

TECHNICAL

The updated file will overwrite the default APX56420.BGL located under your Flight Simulator directory in SCENERY/0705/SCENERY with and updated version. The old file will be backed up to APX56420.BGL.NMG. To restore the default airport file, simply rename the APX56420.BGL.NMG file back to APX56420.BGL.

DISTRIBUTION

This update may be freely distributed. You may even apply it to your commercial products. There is no copyright on this update.
